Premises:
I do like JDOM and there are no enough words to thank the Admin and the Jcook company for what they do and the way they do.
there is no other service like the Jcook and it helped me a lot to understand how a component would be correctly developed in joomla.
I'm concerned on how to improve it, and every post I do on the forum is to help (if possible, and in my way) to improve the jcook service.
I really apologize in advance if my further words may offend the hard work of the Jcook development team, but they are my thoughts and I would like to share with you.

JDOM slow down too much the performances of the generated component, and I think there is no need of it for the 80% of the work it is actually doing in any generated component.
As the Admin said joomla doesn't have good classes for the management of files and images, and Jdom could be an help, but even on that, Jdom is still too slow, due to the way it works.
So my modest new functionality request would be to have the opportunity to generate JDOM free components, Instead to modify by hand all the jdom-calls, and re-create the missing Jdom functionalities, like the custom form fields, the toolbar, the Js framework loader, ajax functionalities, etc. etc.

I please again to do not consider my words as an insult to the hard work of the Admin, but just as an opinion and a thought coming from a practical need as would be for example when you have to display thousands of rows on the same page.

I would like to know what the jcook community and the Admin think about this new functionality request.

The good thing is Jocelyn is always open to discussion and he always wants his service to become more powerful and more standard compliant. We've been having some discussions lately about the way the generator creates the view pages and the classes used in bootstrap 3. I think admin is looking at this these days because he also strongly feels some parts of the generated code are becoming unusefull.
jDom comes from a time when Joomla was really not that good with forms. Now, with bootstrap and better coding practices, i also believe jdom could become an usefull option to add for some specific cases.

I understand but this is not a priority for now.
Maybe for the Grid it is more a priority.
But for major part, I must keep it for the moment.

Actually I am improving JDom a lot.
JDom is handling the cross compatibilities, and now able to use all possible icons libraries (no more conflicts)
In future I will try to propose JDom free for FLY view (first priority when I will start the job). When elements are repeated it is slow. Right.
But the thing is JDom is really reducing the developper's work, and clean templates. It handles all dependencies automaticaly, even when called in ajax...
Coding is now a piece of cake

I agree with you, it fix a lot of cross-compatibility things and it helps in the development of complex views.
The problem is considerable only in the grid view.
I have an idea, and I think we can fix this problem with a trick.
I'll let you know, I have to firstly finish a thing I'm doing right now, then I'll do few test and I'll post a solution.
