Hi cook fans,
With high probability I will be the speaker
on Joomla Day (23-25 09-2016). joomla-day.pl/

I would like to talk about J-cook,
because In my opinion its the revolution
that people should know about.

Any ideas how to present the idea in 30 minutes?

maybe build online shop / solve real live problem?

Will need refinement but:
With the introduction of j-cook google maps, you may be able to frame cook as a "life-saver" using a map to identify your current position. Thereafter, you can get the location and directions to nice places to eat in Poland [via rss]. After all, cook is truly a life-saver in a myriad of ways no pun intended.

Good luck
vlemos

PS: may need Admin's help to make it look completely seamless.

Very good initiative.

I will prepare you some documents. I was thinking a PowerPoint, but maybe you prefer to have a static HTML web tree for the presentation.
In that you you will be able to click links to change page and answer questions more easily.
Also propose you a linear presentation.

This is a consequent work, but I NEED TO DO IT anyways this summer.
If I create this presentation in HTML, you will be to edit it and put your customs, to put some examples... freedom.

It will be in English because I can't talk polish. (I can only speak French / English / Spanish / Italian)

Excellent idea for the maps. This is a good feature to present.
In the past I was presenting cook with a Flash. It was beautifull, even with a chronometer bar for the time management of the speaker. But now it is bit obselete, and so I need to create a new document. More easy to edit.

If you prefer PowerPoint, I can do all the slides in this format.
Coding is now a piece of cake

@krasy, I'll pay for your various charges up to 50€. For other formalities we can exchange in private. Also Skype if you want.
For my part it is ok. Do the best you can, it is always better than not being present. I'll not put pressure on you.

Jocelyn, it's not the metter of money, you have no idea how j-cook helped me in my projects,
it really live-saver, btw the real costs are 0 because I live in the same town and will have good time.
My goal is to help j-cook get more popular because I want to benefit form new features ;)

I've been talking with one of events administrators, and the feedback on j-cooks topic is :woohoo:
and guess what nobody have heard about that earlier.

Because we'll have only 30 minutes,

I would like to make super fast presentation with brief information,
(if you wan't to send me some ideas it would be great),
for now I was thinking about:

1.) Problem and Solution
preset the problem of custom app deveopmlent
-how its hard and expesive to develop realible app,
-how its hard to find developers for projects for yesterday,
-how hard is to add new fetures in existing app,
-how hard ist to keep app compatible with constantly evolving Joomla environment

-present solution
-super fast achivmenet of walking skeleton
-realible code
-low learning curve
-rapid protyping
-..

2.) Data relations concepts (FK, n:m)
3.) collections, forms and flys
4.) Sandbox and development iterations
5.) Interface controls (drop downs with search, bools, filters, maps...)
6.) Language keys
7.) installations,
8.) Fork system and custom development

and to show real live cooking process.
involving super cool features like n:m, Google maps, etc
(have to figure out the exact concept of application)

so many to things,
so little time...

The audience is going to be Joomla experts,
so I think I can make it really rapid...

Extra. Very good hints.
Sound great audience.

I started to make the plan of all features, but you are right, let's dedicate the presentation around the needs of today, and the professional contexts.
Your suggestions are really great.

About the money, it is optional and it just to give the same contract to everybody because liubov asked me the same for the French Joomla days. So you know if you want to have an extra coffee or a nice extra restaurant, you can take on this 50€ ticket. I mean, you can also invite somebody... etc.

Anyways, your dedicated time worst must more than 50€. I simply precise it because it is the offer I made already and I think it is a minimum.
Then, you are free to use it or not. Just scan and copy the tickets.

Also, don't forget to share your referral link because you can also earn comisions for life. See the referral program.
Liubov asked me also coupons codes to share during the conference. This is also an excellent idea but for the moment I don't have this feature in the (hand-made) shop. Step by step, it will come for the next years.

About the Google Map feature, you can talk about it, even if it do not comes out directly from the builder. But maybe it will be released in september. I will try to make it.
A good example is the demo component (Hello My World), It contains N:m (visits) and Maps. But also images thumbs system, modal boxes, lists, filters, ...
In a presentation of 30 minutes it will not be possible to do a complete review of the features.

And if somebody ask for SQL import, tell him that it will come. At the moment I let this key feature for my concurrent (loyalty), but not for long.
With the sandboxes, don't forget to talk about the datasets construction, downloadable in the package.

Do you have a exemple of a 'problem' to present and a 'solution'. Any case study for idea ?

All this is a draft, I am gonna prepare you a HTML presented with impress.js, and then free to you to add / modify depending of your presentation and your audience.

Hi Krasy,

You will open a new way, and you 're right!
I think too that J-Cook service is the closest Service that each people loving Joomla should know. Admin Users, Developpers, Web Agency, ...

This is a subject I had with Jocelin for 2 years, to prepare a J-cook Showing at the next French JoomlaDay. This will be my 11' Jday, it becomes very difficult to find some new Conferences ... In France, speakers have 50 minutes.

So very nice idea, and have fun !

good news!
we have 100% confirmation,
and guess what?
we will have 2 presentations ;)

for now I've send the short summary:

J-Cook - what problems can be solved without touching the code in 2016?
-Huston we've got the problem! We need to write an app for yesterday but have no developers
-Variability of project assumptions - agile methodologies
-Universal data structures and database design
-Rapid prototyping and walking skeleton
-Classic development vs. code generators
-I knew it, it can't be done - Manual development of generated code
-How to maintain the code and develop the app in the future - Will it work in 2 years from now?

J-Cook in practice - Live component building
-How to develop database structure in interations?
-How to use foreign keys to make a relations between tables?
-mamy to many - 1 product in many categories and we have many products
-that's wrong, that's wrong, this is missing - 5min. ready - how to iterate testing and design
-Forms - adding records
-Collections and data presentation
-App is alive! But can't be used... - Filtering and linking to filtered collections
-How to switch to code fluently and add manually missing things
-Mess like hell, don't understand what I've made myself last week. How to solve problems and where to find help.

is it ok?
what should i add?
do you have some suggestions?

Wow !!.
You are the best.
K++ K++ K++

I just sent you an email, so we can present each others and start to work on that.

By the way, when we want to work in team (with liubov as well), we can use teamspeak.
Use the j-cook.pro server, all users of cook can use it. I will present it and do an article to invite people to chat on it.
