Last Friday I was about to subscribe... But paypal got problem, can't process my request.

I selected 3 months subscription.

Last night I tried to subscribe again... guess what? I can only choose between 12 Months, 18 Months, 24 Months...

Why no early notice?

I would have used other alternatives had i known this, and not spend the last week building it here...

Not all users are developers who will use this app regularly...

If too many users subscribe the 3 months package, and you're having trouble making this profitable I could understand that.

COOK is an excellent project, despite a few shortcomings... I like it.

EUR 5/month/user is quite generous i believe... considering the cpu time it takes to generate files everytime a user rebuilt his project.

However if you make it a minimum 12 months to subscribe, you're chasing away people with small budget.

Make tiered pricing packages... that could help encourage people to subscribe a longer period while still taking in income from those not planning to spend a lot for a one-off project.

EUR 6.50/month x 3 months (EUR 18.50 total)
EUR 6.00/month x 6 months (EUR 36.00 total)
EUR 5.00/month x 12 months might (EUR 60.00 total)

Yes and I wanted it for the coming V2.0, but I have no choice.

The project is not sustainable at the moment and I didn't wanted to up the price. No way.
I think a 12 month subscription is still reasonable price for the service.
(It is even not the price of a developper for one day !!!)

I need to earn my life, pay the bills and the server.
If you have a small budget, find somebody with who to share an account.

This price is a correct price. You will not find anything else at this price.
Remember that the support is free !!!

Kind Regards.

Well, if it had not for the "3 months" i wouldn't have started my project here knowing that i can't download....

I would have to be to satisfied with Fabrik.

Why not have 3 months package for a few more days.... so those who have built their projects could download their work...

Raise the minimum subscription period after that...

There's places in this website which still advertise "minimum is 3 months"...

12 months subscription is like 3 weeks food where I live...

I am really sorry for inconvenience.

I really want everybody happy here, so I offers you 1 month free, in order to download your project.
Then if you like it, you can continue to use it.

I keep in mind that the price is ridiculous for the amount of work realizated for you.
If you have a Joomla website, you may have paid for a template (about 50€, for only one non-exclusive download), or other third extensions like sef404, just for example.

If you maintain a website, you will maybe need others functionalities to create in future. Subscribing provide you an unlimited access for unlimited components to create.

For sure this service is not perfect, but it really does the job.

Fabrik is a brillant app with lot of features. I recommand it.
Here, with Cook Self Service, the idea is that your component is not based on a third framework to run. This is almost the only difference.

Again, I am really sorry to have changed this without notification, but at the end, the price didn't changed and I really needed to do it now in order to keep the viability of the project.

Best Regards,
Jocelyn.

I just want to add a personal comment when you say that 60€ is 3 weeks of food where you live.

Personally I had to get off of developping and close my previous activity because it was difficult to continue existing when I was surrounded by concurent prices coming from india, poland, romania, china or bangladesh...

Cook Self Service is an european product and for sure the life cost is not the same.

If you are developing app for your country, I am ok. But if you are selling your services on the world market, you shouldn't complain of anything please.
One of the users told me that he sold 30 000 euros an app build 95% with Cook.
If you do the same, you can really appreciate paying 60 € for whole year.

Everybody is struggling in the middle of this crisis, and if Cook is accessible only for developpers (according to you), this is somehow good because at least they keep their job.

That is the only point I wanted to precise.
I guess lot of people will agree with me.

I am not angry because I can do my best here and provide a good service.

I was surprised when i received an invoice in my email.

i really wish I could pay you what i intended to pay.

I understand the feeling of doing work but unable to get decent income out of it. been there. I was a photographer and i'm not now because newbies flood the market with ridiculous price and consumer can't tell between good and bad photography.

I'm sorry for making a lot of noise about this, not my intention like that. seriously.

Thanks and trust me I'll come back to support.

I'm kinda disappointed in the jump to 12 months as well, and I'll explain why.

I have a project I am working on, and I am not 100% sold on cook. I tried it out without paying, and so far I am pretty happy with the results I have.

For me, it is easier to pay a 3 month subscription, than invest in a 12 month @ the listed price, for pretty much a "live experiment" - I can say, if this first project goes well, I would continue the subscription. But now, I'm not sure if I will invest in 12 months.

I'm going to talk U.S dollars here, easier for me....I'm willing to bet if 3 month was $25, I would buy into it. That equates to $100 a year. But the upfront cost of $72 for a year, I have a hard time swallowing. It needs to be broken down.

I came hear ready to pay tonight, but then I seen 12 month only, so, unfortunately, I will back down at this point, until I know for sure this tool will cover my needs.

This is a wicked cool service you offer, and there is a lot of potential. Thanks for your hard work.

Ok, Ok...

I accept to step back for 6 months subscribtion.
(Even if users who paid for 12 months will be disapointed !!!!)

That is a huge relief.

You know what, I still have not downloaded my component even though given 1 month free though I needed it quick because I want it to be fair.

I will subscribe in a day or two, especially now that the minimum duration is lowered to a reasonable 6 months.

For 12 months, I will still thinking if it's worth it because i know I will only use it casually.

For 6 months, I will pay without thinking much.

You're doing it right. Congratulation!
