It's not that important, but I was wondering why you decided to only allow the builder on Firefox. I'm pretty sure it's not because the other browsers' technology is incompatible, just that you have made a decision to force your users to use firefox.
Why do you feel so strongly about it that you wish to prevent other browsers- it's exactly the type of coercion that I hate about MS and Apple trying to monopolize their respective markets. Surely choice is a good thing, no?
The people who use your software are likely pretty technologically savvy, so they're not going to be using IE, but blocking other options? Chrome? Safari? Opera? Why? Bad decision.

The answer is really simple. I could had this consideration, but not.

I really would like to do it cross browsers, but the builder runs with MooTools and lot of CSS, JS.
It is only a LAZY question. I do not want to run specials tests. Only that.

I am working with Firefox because it has so many developper tools. I really invite users to install the Web Developper Toolbar of Firefox, and Firebug is awesome as well.

When I did the decision, I choosen also for an Open Source one.

My intention is really not to limit the users, but to concentrate on usefull stuff.
Cook Self Service give you total freedom, no backlinks, no asked license (only authors in headers, please)

But your question is important, I may have asked the same if I was a user.
I think Chrome could be eventually possible (with a non garantee discaimer).

Not my priority at all for the moment.
Firefox is good.
I can also help users with Firebug, and WebDev toolbar, it is more easy and can help with screenshots...

We can also think about creating components for Drupal or Wordpress, But Joomla has been choosen.
Same for jQuery.

Cook and Joomla are full of choices, because it speaks about standards.
Joomla is non-corparated backed, and it is good because the implemented tools an libs are because the bests. Not because of lobbying.
See bootstrap in 3.0 : a Jewel !!

Hope you understand. When all users are using the same it is also more easy.

Thanks for your question.
Coding is now a piece of cake

Hi there,
Just thought I might add personally I like building Cook Components in FireFox probably because I don't really use Firefox for anything else only "cooking"

I can work on my development and site in IE, Chrome... and if I need to clear the cache for Cook or my development work in a different browser I can clear everything in the cache without affecting the other

Just one small positive from my point of view

@BTB300 - That's a very good point.

Similarly, I typically use Chrome for browsing because its a lot less 'klunky' than FF (the new IE as I call it) and therefore, building cook components in FF works well for exactly the reason you describe; clearing cache, cookies & other data without collateral damage.

Another advantage is that as I'm only using FF for Cook (and testing cross-browser compatibility), switching between applications/windows is a lot easier and faster!

I would have posed the same question, if it were another borowser, and I would have also been a bit angry just like andypooz. I can understand his feelings. But, it is Firefox, so I will keep quiet. I only use Firefox, never anything else, except for testing purposes. So, fine with me. Oh,.... and why don't I ever use anything eles..... well, because all the rest, Microsoft, Apple and Google, just disgust me to the core of my soul.... really..... absolutely, totally and utterly.
