There is no code generated for the "New" nor for the "Save" functions neither in the controllers nor in the view.html.php files even if the buttons appear in cook.

I tried :

Removing the buttons and reinserting them in the toolbar
Removing the toolbar from the layout and reinserting it
Deleting and rebuilding the view

without success.

So I downloaded the component and looked through the code. The functions save() and new() do not exist.

Have you seen this before?

Thanks again

Hello admin,

Except for two views, they all have an item layout and a collection layout.

One view does not even have a tmpl folder. Other views have the following files (for example):
  1. patineur.php
  2. patineur.xml
  3. patineur_fly.php

The usual file patineur_form.php is not there.

Thanks,

Hello Gez,

I tried with a different computer. I don't think the cache nor the login session can be an issue.

I recreated part of the component. I get the same behaviour. I tried with both versions: CMS (Joomla! 1.6, 1.7 and 2.5) and v2.0 Beta (joomla! 2.5). From what I can see, it does not make any difference.

I tried different configs. The last I tried:
  1. JS Framework: JQuery
  2. Form style: Condenses
  3. Features: JDom complete
  4. DB automations: Model
  5. Timeout loading: 20 seconds

Thanks again,

Hi jroberge,

In the front-end or backend?

If it's the backend, I would test by creating a new component with one simple table to see if it makes a difference. But actually, just before you do, you haven't applied any CSS class or anything else in the properties of the toolbar or buttons themselves?

If it's a frontend form, it maybe related to not having a checked out/author field if you don't have one. Not 100% sure about this but I would almost certainly put a new post in tickets as they are priority for admin to look at.

Sorry if this isn't much help! I've never experienced these issues.

Hi again Gez,

What a shame  . Looking more deeply at the component with your suggestions, I realize that the behaviour of Cook is totally appropriate. I was working with a fly block, not a form block. I realize that by default, when one create a new layout, he is provided with a toolbar and a form on the admin side, and a toolbar and a fly on the public side.

Thanks for your help and sorry for the distraction...
