This web application could be the real KILLER application for joomla component writing....
BUT need at least a feature .. whithout this feature is almost UNUSEFUL for professional coding!

From my point of view the missing feature list is Project CLONING
- this features will solve 2 problems in 1 single feature, BOTH possibility to clone for backups and to clone in order to save a "base" component template.
- furthermore, the application should have the possibility to interact with other tables (even if 'fake' tables)

I hope for a development in short time ...

Bye

HI There and firstly welcome to the forum

I will assume as this is your first post that you are new to Cook

May I Just say that BEFORE you go proclaiming something like this => "almost UNUSEFUL for professional coding"
that you first consider "WHAT" COOK does for you...

Are you aware of the following?

COOK is under constant development

For the "fake" tables - you can construct / duplicate them as part of your project

For the "base component" - make a base component it will be there for as long as you have a subscription

- COOK does about 80-90% of the work for you depending on your requirements - would you prefer to code by hand?
- You can take your base component and extend on it with another project...
- with a little knowledge on how COOK works you can design projects that will be "joined" once downloaded

- for a "PROFESSIONAL" developer it should not be that hard to "Join" projects outside COOK

And a kind closing word
Bagging the service, YELLING and Emphasizing something that HAS BEEN DISCUSSED MANY TIMES in the forums before just because "you" need it will not get you anywhere...

Your subject has been discussed here many times before please do your research first - a good developer will find ways to work with the tools they have. There is plenty of information in the forums that can assist you

Have a great day and welcome

Welcome to the community, first.

Thanks BTB300,
I have almost nothing to add more. People here is understanding very well the concept and the long way it has been to arrive here. Even if it had to stop here, the tool is not poor. Search around for something else.

Anyway, Cook is semi-professional, as well as Joomla. If you are attempting to get a 100% perfect software, do not use Joomla first, and do not use Cook.

Developpement list is long and as a such first post, you are not allowed to ask for a functionality and as fast as possible.

Thanks to understand.

I don't think smarano meant any disrespect to admin, and as a new user may not have seen all the previous posts in the forum.

Normally when you take the time to make suggestions, it's because you like what you see/use, and would like it to be even better. Yhats only positive IMO. I find the suggestions good, even though they have been mentioned before.

I understand some of the words could have been chosen more wisely, but don't be to hard on a new user that might be an future asset to the forum :-)

Welcome smarano

Yes perhaps i was a little hard - apologies to smarano (but please don't bag the service without full justification)

There is a lot of us that have been here for a long time, understand the COOK development process and are actively helping others.

If you need help to understand the cook development process - just ask we all start somewhere

Once again welcome samrano

@smarano, Since few months, it is now possible to clone a project.

For the other possibility of catching third tables, it is on the way.
