Long time I did not use COOK, thus, I have to be familiar again.
However, everything seems to work correctly in the component I did except :
-on front page both my website and sandbox I cannot have the NEW button to set a new file to fill. However, it is working good on the backend (administrator)
-I cannot install my component on Joomla 2.5 I have a mistake. It is working on Joomla 3.5 only.
This is i the mistake I have when i try to install in Joomla 2.5 :
500 - An error has occurred.
JHtml: :jquery not supported. File not found.
Return to Control Panel .

Therefore my questions are :
-what is the builder version link to Joomla 2.5 ? legacy 2.6.4 ? where is it possible to read the relation between Joomla and the builder version ?
-How can I have like in the back end the button NEW to clic on it and make a new file.

My project name is currencies.

The NEW / EDIT buttons can only be created if you have a item FORM view layout there.
By default, it instance a FLY.
> Drag a FORM Brick


About 2.5 compatibility, it should still work, but Cook do not guarantee it anymore.
I do not test it anymore.

But about your error, I guess it is a problem in the required dependencies.

In the helper file : helpers/helper.php
Check the headerDeclarations() function, there has been some changes there.
Look how is written an old working component, and replace the code in there.

Open the ITEM layout (FRONT), and you will see available.

Yes I agree.

But I want the item NEW within this page, to be build in the same way of previous component named flight scheduller that I did in 2012.
Therefore, I will be obliged to create a menu just to get the ability to have the new fonction available.

Is it not possible to have the NEW of the toolbar available ? like before ? I saw it and it is not available
I consider this as a malfunction.

The design of my website is affected. Two cook component made thank to your wonderful software and two way to use it.

Can you imagine keeping the old ability of cook for the futur ?

It is ok it will work as you expect.

In the FRONT LIST layout (plural) : Instance the 'New' task button in the toolbar brick. (you did it already)
In the FRONT ITEM layout (singular) : Create this layout if missing, remove the FLY brick and instance a FORM brick.

If you still encounter problems after that, I will have a look in your project.

Don't worry for the questions. This is a classic one, and it is my fault, It should be explained better.

For answering your request about 2.5 back compatibility, I am affraid that the B/C compatibility will not be handled forever, so the answer is no.
Cook will at the contrary follow the latest evolutions of Joomla and will always keep B/C compat minimum 1 year after the end of life of a version.
More than one year, it will be very difficult to maintain, and I do not process any tests anymore.

I know how difficult is to migrate a website, but if you don't migrate your Joomla, you are dead already.
Be carefull with that. Internet is a severe war, and your obselete Joomla is highly vulnerable, so don't do that.

Cook evolves slowly, so with some skills, you will often find a way to improve a component and copy your layouts and triads in an old component, but you take the more difficult way.
Migrate your websites. Once your server is compromised, it will not be only your Joomla to rebuild, but the whole server installation. Be aware of that.

I am within a private confidential network that cannot be linked with internet.

Therefore it is very difficult for me to update.
Moreover this is not my job. I do that because I am a crazy guy who offer his service for them. (I am pilot, thus very far away from PHP SQL etc.)
They even don't know i am spending money for that.

By the way, I would like it to be able to offer to make operations.
For exemple, to be able to sum up figures in a table. If you look at my first project flight schedule, I insert hour like 02:10 for 2 hours and 10 minutes.
It would have been great to be able to make the sum of them.

Other idea, be able when you enter a date to change the color of the police if approching less then a specific amount of days remaining prior this date.

Maybe it is already to make it but I do not know how.

Glad that you got sorted out.

Those features you ask for are far too specific.
It would complicate even more the builder interface.

The next planned devs are concerning structural features and Joomla native standards.
Such operations and styling are in the hand of the developer.

They are really easy to achieve. Few lines placed at the right place (in a fork), and you are done.
If you cannot do that, you can hire somebody in the forum : j-cook.pro/index.php/forum/23-need-a-developper
I am also hirable for small hints like that.
