Hi, please help. i Have downloaded my component and wish to put the frontend views on my site. I understand this should be done through the menu manager by adding a new menu item and setting the menu item type. however i cannot see anything relating to my compnent in the list? there are definatly views there I've looked in the front-end component file of the directorys but i cannot show them. please help!

Did you created front view layouts in your component ?

Yes and I can see them in j-cook and view them in the sandbox

Strange. It works on my hand.

When you create a new Menu Item, can you see the name of your component ? Do you mean the list of layout is empty or your component not appearing ?

No i cant see the name of my component in the list of layouts when adding a new menu item

Wich version of Joomla ?

For me there is no problem with your component. i tried it in local, it works perfectly.

Can you try on a fresh Joomla 2.5.6.

ok it works if i install the fresh download of the component but stops working if add my own code to it? does saving nit as a .zip or .tar.gz make a diffrence to that? everything else in my component is working fine.

All you must have are metadata.xml files in each front view directory.

EDIT : Maybe in you language file ? (en-GB.com_catering.sys.ini)

oh and yes there are metadata files in those directorys. would it be possible to send you my component with my code added to it?
