I can only put fields from foreign tables in the filter combo box.
Is there a logic behind this constraint ?

Yes, in the filters, you can only drop a field of a joined table, or an enumeration.

The filters are very limited for now. But patience, this will evolve.
For example, you can't filter on date, on bool, or range of value, etc...
You cannot instance radio, checkboxes, lists, multiple list, etc...
It is not possible to add a text searchbox, yet.

Lots of features are in fabrik.
We hope these functionalities for soon, but it is difficult to estimate when.

I was missing the same thing, but I understood that Cook is still in development... Nice to know that those options are in the way...

We will try to create ALL the possible basic functionnalities. This is the idea of Cook, and this is why there are a lots of potiential behind Cook.

We released for public few weeks ago, we are still stabilizating 1.3 before adding new functionalities.

The idea is to do not create exotic special functionalities for particular use, but to cover all the common needs of a basic component.

I agree with griiettner, even if this was the final product it would be awsome to say the least.

I am so, so, so looking forward to see how far this can go.

Seems like the skies the limit at the moment.

Today, I do not understand how it works. I cannot see those filter (combo box) and search within my frontend.
So simple question : is it normal that I cannot see them ? I just put one combo box and one search.

Moreover, regarding the quote here above, is it still under process or everything had been solved ?

Furthermore, I don't understand what that it means : Yes, in the filters, you can only drop a field of a joined table, or an enumeration. How can you drop a field ?

It will be nice to maybe have a road map with functionnality under process, and those who work pretty good.

Regards,

When you drop a filter or a searchbox (which is also a filter...), you can see a dashed zone inside it (under the title).
Take a data field and drop it in. If you don't do this link, Cook cannot know on which data you want to filter or search. The search box accept infinite numer of fields.

If you don't see thoses filters, it is because there are no fields linked, so they are ignored.

Now I use pretty well the filter and search options.

Regarding my component I need to be able to make a sum of hours.
However I have no PHP knowledge to be able to hack my own component.

So it will be nice to export value inside the table in fichier.xls.

Do you have this project underway ?

Many thank, COOK is really very nice, and it will become more and more.

Just one remark, it will be nice to have the opportunity to keep the database with what we already register in the sandbox.
