Hi,
I have created yesterday a new simple project.
In the Front End item the Cancel button does not work, that is, no action is done.
This occurs in the Sandbox, too.
I am using JC V2.0 beta.
I have also tried to define the layout for the button, but unsuccessfully.
May I have done some mistake, can you please help me?
Thanks and BR

Do you have a collection layout specified as the default? I believe you need one as this is where the redirector will take you to upon clicking cancel.

It uses JS so I wonder, are you getting any JS errors in console upon clicking it?

Which JS lib, jQuery or MooTools?

@pbianco

Is this the same issue as in tickets?

Can I merge them?

Hi,
I use JQuery.
In Mozilla Error Console I get the following error:
Error: TypeError: form.find(...).not(...).die is not a function
Source File: http://sandbox.cms25.j-cook.pro/administrator/components/com_demo7650/js/jquery.validationEngine.js
Line: 97

I hope this can help
BR

PS: You may merge the two tickets, I was not sure to have inserted the topic into the right folder.

Great, I'll merge them into the New Tickets section now.

Have you tried this locally and if so, do you get the same error?

Can you also check the version of jQuery you are using (<head> of your doc)? Cook gets the latest version of jQuery which I believe is now on V1.9.x which I understand broke some validation. I'm not sure whether this has been fixed however, there is a workaround: www.j-cook.pro/forum/19-new-tickets/6460...-jquery-version#6460

Yes,
I have the same problem locally.
But I believe that it seems that the button has no action associated to it.

I looked into the code, in the "controllers" file the function "cancel" is not defined.
In my other project, which I designed last month, there is. Which can be the difference?

I am using JQuery 1.9. But in the Sandbox, too.
But why there is no function for "Cancel"?

I don't think it's a case of there being 'no' function, more a case that there is some sort of naming collision or something. Likely, a newly added jQuery function that is causing the jQuery validator from processing certain tasks correctly.

For now, unfortunately, the answer is change the related helper function to specify a jQuery version (i.e. 1.8.x). To see the changes required, please follow this thread www.j-cook.pro/forum/19-new-tickets/6460...-jquery-version#6460

I'll message admin about this as I was sure that he'd mentioned fixing it.

Hope it helps,

This might work if you want to avoid depreciated jQuery libraries...
