<dl> Vs <table> 27 Jan 2013 20:08 #6540

I think tables are much better than defintion list.
What is the reason to force the use of the DL?

(I mean, I know on the form would be semantically better the use of the DL, but in the real life, tables or divs are hundreds times better than DL.)

Hi @Tomaselli

I agree but, are you suggesting that there be an option, or do you mean that you'd prefer to automatically have divs rendered in your layouts?

I think the DL could completely removed anywhere from the builder, because they are really unuseful, and replace them with simple TABLEs or divs/spans, then if that is not possible, I would be happy even with an option on the builder to render the layouts in that way.
I know joomla by default use dl in several places, but I sincerely don't care, there are so many things I would change on the joomla core, that if I may find the right people to work with I probably would make a fork...JOOMLA RELOAD.

Just wanted to congratulate you on the J-Cook website / web development tool. In a couple of visits I've had a play around with Cook and have to say I think it is fantastic.  I've played with a number of component builders in the past and yours is certainly looking like the best so far. I'd also like to help you spread the word - I'm really surprised more people aren't excited about this tool. Good luck with the project.
