For my project I'm need to add a blob field to a table. I'm trying to upload an image and save it into the database as a blob.

Before everyone starts jumping to conclusions about why this is not a good idea, From what I've read (yes Google is my friend) and it seems that MYSQL should be able to handle my needs. Each image will be no larger than 25Kb (generally about 10Kb) and the population will only be 20-50,000 images in 3-4 years time. I'd don't expect traffic to be heavy to the site either.

The currents devs are on files and images.
I think released about the 15th of december.

BLOB is a good idea, even if it not used a lot. To be complete Cook must integrate all of the basic natives of MYSQL.
But unfortunatly, because lot of users are waiting for the files and images management, I prefere limitate the functionality and relase it.

BLOB will be integrated further with a low priority.

Coding is now a piece of cake
