Hi there,

Ok, this post is not really a demand about new features about Cook... ;)
I just post here what Cook should be in several years, or what I would love to see in it...
  1. N:M relations management (yes, of course...)
  2. Component plug capability (possibility to plug other components to your Cook project. Should be amazing for splitting projects, but, why not, to plug some other big components like Jomsocial, and so on...) :woohoo:
  3. An enhanced management of the fronten and backend views... Probably something like this Wordpress plugin , to buid a customized view... :P
  4. Automatic integrations, like Facebook Comments, Disqus, Paypal, and major systems we should need in our projects...

Ok, ok... I stop here. I know, this is a dream... So much work to bring Cook to this level... But dreaming is free, hehe... B)

Nice day, everybody! :)

Thank you very much for your proposals.
In fact many of them are on the road map.

Basicly, I work alone so I cannot promise deadlines. It is too much difficult.
Also, I come back from a long pause for personal reasons, and it is the moment for me to read such comments as yours to see what is the more important.

I have checked the Wordpress ajax plugin, it looks great.

Cook will first make the step of full ajax possibilities, and then all other features with ajax will be possible.

Hey Chef,

Great to see you back!
Thanks for your comments.

I know you're alone for this, and the work it is to build the features I've listed.
But I'm sure this would be just amazing to see that in Cook.

Yeah, the Wordpress plugin is amazing. I show you this just for you to know the features in it. Building a customized view, with blocks (div), and choose the content inside it should be incredible for Cook. I think this kind of concept is made for Cook.

So I wish you the best for the Cook's future! :)

Thank you for keeping me up to the cool releases of the web.

The idea I am thinking is to pass over the Joomla limitation.
Actually, Joomla allows only to treat (by default conventions) only a list or an item.
If we want to include multiple forms in the same page, it must be done in ajax.

So my idea is to create an interface that load/grab any kind of datas from Cook components, and also for any kind of restfull applications in Joomla.
A kind of Ajax consumer of datas build in nodes.
I got it pretty nice started and already the basements was working, when suddently I lost all this work.
I also lost others developements at work for cook, and this is the reason of my recent recovering and absense and lost of motivation. It has been a hard trauma, but now I am back, and stronger.

No problem for this, Chef!

If you're inspired by the Visual Composer for Wordpress, I bet this would be really helpful for Cook users: we would be able to add some blocks, define the content inside each one, set the CSS class for each one... And, why not, as the Visual Composer, some other stuffs like Facebook like, and so on...

So, yes, the interface would be amazing... It will allow us to split our components and let them discuss together, and we can think about some great integrations with JomSocial, Community Builder, Kunena, ...

I'm sorry to hear that for your lost work. I know what you feel, I had a similar story about some works...
So, keep your head up. Cook's fans are here! :)

Hi Chef,

So, where are we going now?
Is there any news about the next release? What will we see in it?

Thanks for your answer.

Best.

I focus right now on improvements on the admin side to accelerate my processes.
Then I will spend less time on management, and more on the devs.

Priority is also to fix all the tickets before to go on.
I cannot say you more for the moment. Long is the road.

I must say that I'm leaps and bounds ahead of where I would have other been with J2.5 with full thanks to the folks on this forum and specifically to Cook so you'll never hear me complaining.
