Now I am gonna prepare you new real features coming soon.

The 2 first coming features of the road map will be :
1. cross-reference lists (N:M)
2. F0F

Thoses two are already almost finished. But you have to be patient a little bit more.

EDIT :

The only thing I couldn't manage is the token problem. Sometimes the builder mess up with the security tokens, and you will have to wait 20s or refresh the page. I am really sorry for that. It is not created by a problem you are responsable. Simply there is a problem I have difficulties to fix, and I prefer to offer you this release in time and fix that bug after. It is not blocking issue.

Is N:M a reality now? (getting exited) :cheer:

Yes, I am preparing it.

I already have it in my hands, almost there, but I cannot release anything for the moment.

Also, I would like to rewrite the updateXref() function and work the same than F0F works for that. I mean, using the same naming conventions.

Do you read my mind ?
Yes, very close and not a joke this time.
Tonight, tomorrow or after tomorrow.

I had to rewrite it all and do another way. Inspirated by FOF, I implement now the XREF with the same name conventions than FOF, and similar use.
It is a bomb.

For the moment, not infinite recursive, but the code shell can handle it infinite reverse lists.
Only the builder lacks for the presentation of the feature and limited fin one level.
It was all done this last summer 2014, but I had to rewrite it all. It took 3 times to write you this feature.

Now it is pretty good and presentable. Definitive way.

updateXref, loadXref... are deprecated soon, but still available for use.

Stay in touch. I am finishing the last details for the builder.

Here you have it.

Version 2.8 !
I am super busy for the next days. so please just have a look and tell me what you think.
Because I know you are all impatient (me the first), so I let it for try in exclusivity, but I will announce it in few days.

How to use :
In the fields trees, at the end you can see a new node (XREF)
Drag a sub node in the layouts (Form, Grid), it will automatically instance a N:1 or N:M depending of the context.

FLY ITEM : It do not work for the moment. (But very soon)
Open the properties to see better the declaration of the relation (much to improve, but the minimum is there)

You can start to work with it, it will not change in future. The syntax is definitive.

Do you actually have a FK field in your table?

The field objects are dynamic, one one of my views I see three XREF.. in another only one

Just trying it out now

Chef : Will we be able to use this tech to do a cjheckbox group, multiselect etc

To see XREF node, you must have declared any FK pointing to the current table.

It is a little bit raw now and beta, but the code is simple and efficient.

YES !!!!
Multi select fields in the forms of course !!!
(But not in the filters)

By the way should work for FOF, but It does not work there at the moment.
For the moment... shuttt... I've not finished yet.

This 2.8 also improve a little bit he HTML templates. Enjoy it.

Update : FLY item pages are now handling relations as well.

For the XREF filters, it will come later because I am rewiting the HTML part.

Guess you will love the new way. (More joomla standard)

Sorry Chef

I have tried every combination of dragging in the relations from the table and am getting absolutely nothing.

I have tried dragging child objects in both form and fly bricks into the parent item layout (I see them in FIELDS no problem), and basically just dragging them anywhere to try and get some klind of response. Usually I just get.. nothing. Not a single thing generated on the sandbox

Can you take, if possible, a few mins out your schedule to just quickly jot down a simple example (maybe using your traveller N:1 docs) just to show how you would drag in the fields and make this work. Doesnt even need to be a full example, just a parent / child simple hello world so the basics become clear

For now, I am having to stick to the manual way as I have to give up with the new method.

Thanks in advance to you (or anyone else) who can get me on the path
