I answered in your other post.
For the search, I recognize it should take the ID when the user choose the field node without opening it.

Maybe I will introduce the ID field visible in the list, so you can take it as a normal field.

I close this ticket because it is fixed since few months.
since the ID appears in the fields tree, you simply drag the ID when you need it.
