Hello,

here is my trouble :

I want to create a view on a table with grouping so it will be easier to read for end user.

is is the situation :

I have a table which is a list of department. This table is link to countries table with a foreign key. The countries table is linked to continent table with foreign key.

I would like to group the departements by continent.
To do so, I use the group by -> Countries_Title. If offers me a new choice of Group By to select the Continent->Title.

But when checking the sandbox is does not work.

Maybe I made a mistake on the test values or is is not feasable ?

going further on the topic I found some troubles :

created tables :
- Continent
- Countries
- Departments

Foreing keys :
- Continent in Countries
- Countries in Department

When working on the collection vies :

first try :
show department title ; continent title ; country title
=> all is OK and I can see each informations from my dataset

second try :
showing same fields than first try but grouping by country
=> the continent value for each line disappear on the view.
=> the component can't retrieve the value for continent anymore ?

Hi, thanks for the quick reply.

Problem is still there. Know, I have some display of my datas but I still can't view the Continent information is the site list.

If needed, you can check it on demo1007.

Thanks for your attention.

I see them perfecly in back-end.

You don't have any front-end layout defined. That's the point.

EDIT : I usually never do that, but because I see it is a test component, I added a continent ('Europe') in order to see this continent label in the group of the 'departement' table.
sandbox.cms25.j-cook.pro/administrator/i...007&view=departement
