Hi There,
OK, I just placed an ordering field on one of my tables, with
no group by set,
not required and all of the
default options. Just to be clear about my setup in case there are any slight differences;
- FF Version: 15.0.1 (Although it has just found an update of some sort)
- OS: MacOSX 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard)
- Joomla Version: 2.5
- Environment: Sandbox
- Cook Version: 2.0
- JS: JQuery
- Form Style: Condensed
- Features: Maximum
- ToDo: No
- DB Automation: Model
- Timeout: 20 secs
I can confirm that in relation to points in your earlier post;

This field appears as a drop-down in my item view with the options;
- Order First
- --1 ()
- --2 ()
- --3 ()
- Order Last
Is this the same for you or are you seeing a regular text field?
@admin - I can also confirm that this option is always pre-populated with the option Order First and is therefore always set to 0 upon save unless changed.
1 question regarding the other options, i.e. --1 (), --2() & --3 (); Shouldn't or could there be an option to utilise the row's title or another field inside of the brackets?

At first glance, I though, hold on, where are my arrows???
Then I realised, it's quite neat in that, you're ordering field on a grid should automatically be set to sortable. To reveal the arrows and make the field editable, i.e. to type a number into the ordering field or use arrows, you must select click the column title to sort by order first.
If it is not sortable, first, in the grid view, click properties on your ordering field then check sortable.
Is this the behaviour you're experiencing? Does that fix it?
Hope it helps! best of luck,
Gez
