I just built out 3 components without any errors...

Have you got data in your sandbox in fields and tables whose names have changed since your last build? I got that once - although this doesn't seem to be related as I had an sql error pointing to the fields whose names I'd changed.

This error seems to be an incorrect reference to a model in the builder itself, right?

Really great Joomla tool Cook is a great piece of kit for creating Joomla components. It uses a drag-n-drop interface to build tables and fully featured pages. You can test your component in a sandbox before downloading it packaged up ready to install. The developer is responsive on the support forum.
