Hi all

I am having a small issue - I can't get the toolbar to show on any of my front end collections. I have reviewed the forums looking for similar problems, including: None of these seem to match my problem or solve it.

While I can get the edit function to work by creating a link from the data, I was planning to try doing a redirection to another form next. However given I can't even get the button (or toolbar) to show, I can't even consider this yet.

While I am showing a single collection, the above is try of all collections. I am logging in as a super-admin, so should (and do) have full edit rights.

My configuration is:

My database looks like this:

Permissions are set like this:

The collection has been defined like this:

The result looks like this:

Any suggestions or solutions would be welcome.

Hi @djod

From looking at the screenshots you've provided, I believe that not seeing your edit button is due to not having a front-end form for users to edit the constellation.

To Do:
1 - Add another 'item' layout in the frontend. In frontend item layouts, Cook will auto insert a 'fly' view instead of a 'form' unlike in the backend.
Therefore, once you've created and named it...
2 - Drag the 'Fly' block to the trash and add a 'form' from the bricks on the left-hand side in the builder.
3 - As per other views, drag your fields onto the layout.

That should cure it hopefully! Issue 1 coming in next message!

Hope it helps!

Gez, thanks for the speedy reply. That makes sense.

But I may have given you the wrong impression.

What I am looking for is a read only view for most users. So I'm guessing that there is no such thing as a toolbar button for "View". I mistakenly assumed "Edit" acted as a View button in such a case, and hence why I provdied the Edit permission, which was no doubt confusing!

If this is the case, then we can close this ticket.

I found "cook" two days ago. Played around with it for a day and then within a day got rid of two legacy applications in IBM Lotus Domino Notes and replaced them with "cook". It was really easy. A piece of cake. Actually it was even easier than cooking. Cooking involves more work than developing with "cook". What can I say about "cook"? Great application great price for what it delivers great forum with a lot of information and fast responses active and friendly community fast forward moving development cycle So what should I say "Monsieur Le Cook"? Keep the good work going it will lead to success. Having become a paying member in the words of Edith Piaf may I say ..... non rien de rien ... je ne regrette rien. Vive La France.
