First off let me say what a brilliant app! Thank you very very much for all the hard work to build Cook!

Will you be adding a DATETIME field or TIMESTAMP type soon? I know it'd come in real handy for a more specific created or modified field. Or is there a way to enable this already and I'm just missing it? :)

Thanks!

There is a wizard on the tables to ad creation date and modification date.

They will add the time to the database table automatically

Tocpe

You are right, Cook only handle DATE for the moment.

DATETIME & TIMESTAMP are not handled yet.
Coding is now a piece of cake

Sorry Tocpe.

I jumped in a little too soon, just realised my suggestion was only for date and not itme.

I am also interested in possibility to use datetime fields.
Good to see that is already in the 'Ideas and Suggestions'

Agreed, I also desperately need a datetime (Unix) field this would assist me greatly in porting my PHP Web App to J-Cook.

+ 1 for this functionality as well so many options then... last hit, last visit

???
how about being able to add dates within the cook environment as well
??
like creation date + 90 days /weeks /months = expiry date

then i guess queries between two dates and dates greater than or less than date would be needed as well

Yes, I am really looking forward to a DATETIME and/or TIME field as well. Is there any expected timeframe for when this will be implemented?

Jocelyn,

This has been asked so many times since last November. I do not understand why this does not become a high priority development task. It is a basic database concept and basic to Joomla.

Are you really listening to your users or customers?

I know for sure Jocelyn is listening to its users or customers. His numerous answers here prove it.

I'm also interested in date and time, but i can also understand that there are as many priorities as there are users. For example, authoring was a very much asked feature and it was added.

It is my conviction that Jocelyn is doing his best, but some things just take time. (date and time takes time... well sometimes i'm soooooooooo funny...)

I still don't believe he can really be human to do all this ! From all of the forums that I've ever participated in this is certainly the one that most encapsulates the feeling of being truly open source where everyone's opinions and contributions can and will shape the development of the service! It's truly awesome! Hope you enjoy cooking and look forward to reading and contributing to any of the editorial work that you proposed too!! Thanks
