Is there a way to format pages for display within Jommla? I want to line up some fields so that more fits onto one page.

Thanks,

SDM

Already discussed many times.

and
docs.joomla.org/How_to_override_the_outp...rom_the_Joomla!_core

And if you really need more info and if you really want to learn, you could find a great and long video tutorial on Lynda.com that explains how to create components for Joomla. It helps understand the MVC design pattern and the way this all thing becomes a masterpiece.

+1 for the Lynda.com tuts - I actually subscribed to get the whole series! It's for J1.7 not 2.5 however, its still very helpful!

Some really useful hints & downloads describing how to create separate areas in the admin side using an additional tag in the XML - you know the joomla admin-style accordion often seen on the right-hand side.

This is what you call a component builder. I was able to master using this in a very short time and the resulting component works like a charm. Not just a basic component builder but a fully working component builder with forms fields tables all ready to go. You can make the list and item views to display in the front and back end. Also there is a great forum just starting to evolve and I'm sure this will grow very rapidly when you all realise how good this tool is.
