Just scanned across some code and it reminded me of something that i have been meaning to ask for some time now

When you upload an image is its quality reduced?
i did see in two places that the value of 80% is used for uploads
I understand that in most cases it has little effect on the displayed image and helps with storage and bandwidth...

just thinking about an image that is continuously downloaded, modified and uploaded again...
at 80% quality every time I am guessing would cause some quality issues over time

its just a thought but perhaps should this not be globally configurable in component config?

I think I will rewrite a little bit he images management since Joomla 3.0 is proposing an image class.

In facts, you can change the 80% in your code and not in the builder for the moment

One more thing.
This 80% is only for creating the thumb. Thumb is always a reduced quality.
To answer your question, the original image is always stored without resampling.

I jumped and started to work on a demo component... but 2 days later this demo component became the real component. I just showed today the end result to my customer and he turned to me and said... "this is more than I expected"... All of this is because Cook did cut about 70% of my work and provided me more ways to improve the usability of the component. The end result was 17 tables all related between than to generate a full dashboard for the travel agents. Thanks for Cook developers for such great tool. This component would not be possible to be done at short time with all the features in it
