Edit button on frontend grid view 17 Feb 2013 17:39 #6802

Hi,

I did a component and everything seems to work fine in the backend, but in the frontend i have problems with the edit task.
On the form view, it doesn't appear when i place the toolbar.
The same happen when i do it on the grid view, and i also tried to place on the row... But nothing happens!
The delete button works fine.

Please can u have a look?
Thanks in advance,
Albert

Hi @robertocook,

What is your cook config & version?

You won't get an edit task on a form since you are already editing or creating a new record. Do you mean a fly view where you want to redirect the user to a form for the currently displayed item?

The delete button works fine.

Which permissions have you assigned in your component's configuration and more specifically, have you assigned edit to the usergroup you are signed in with?

Also, just to check, does the item you are trying to edit have a form view? If not, no edit buttons will appear. Also, to clarify, if you are talking about a frontend item, double check that the frontend has the form in question...

A backend form will not count in this instance so you'll need to create one.
