Front end I have, form view and a grid view - all good.

Back end I have a grid view with toolbar + New, Edit, Delete, Options
However, only the Delete button and Options appear in the back end.

I have tried deleting the buttons from the brick and replacing
I have tried deleting the whole project and starting again, 3 times.
I have built another completely separate component.
Each time, no EDIT button and no INSERT button on the back end toolbar.

Everything else works perfectly. What is going wrong?

Do you have "form view" in backend? Create this and your edit and add buttons will be shown.

That was it, cured. I knew it must be something I was missing.
