Component made by V2.0 & Joomla 3.5.1 05 Mar 2017 22:29 #15027

Hi there,

I am stuck with a component created by V2.0 of Cook Self Service for Joomla 2.5

I am not the one who has developped the component, and the dev is unreachable.
I do myself joomla dev, but for now, after joomla update (amazing they have not updated yet...) this component makes blank pages on both front and admin.
I have seen www.j-cook.pro/index.php/support/25-faq/...la-3-4-compatibility but my component have no helpers/loader.php
What can I do ?
There is nothing in apache logs either. Thanks.

I am sorry, but even if I could, I cannot give you access to another client project.

You can rebuild the component with the builder and recreate from scratch.
The SQL importer will cut a lot of work. Then rebuild every page in the builder.
Afterall, move the customs into forks.

Version 2.00 was not supporting forks, so I guess you don't have it.
If your component would have forks, it would be very simple.
Coding is now a piece of cake

Yes, I totally understand this. And even if I could have the username and pwd of the old dev (witch I
think I can recover), the subscription is off from years, so the project is probably deleted.

There were many forks on it, but I can handle this.
I don't know what way I will try to handle this, probably try several ways.
Thanks for answering anyways.

Deleted projects, are never really deleted. In special case, I can recover them.
At the moment I never deleted physically anything, but when my DB will be too huge I will.

Forks appeared in version 2.5, if you have them, you are almost done. Just adjustments and check all correctly.
There has been many changes since 2.5, but the architecture is the same, you might not be lost.

Give me the name of the project (in private), I can search for it and try to contact the previous owner.
From then, I can ask him the permission for you.
Coding is now a piece of cake

Ok, I wrote PM right after this message.
There was JCook 2.0, and forks were manual forks.
But when I will be able to download V2 component, I could compare files with those on website. And reproduce manual forks in jcook fork system, and leave up to date the component.

I couldn't find the link for PM.

I guess there is a limitation due to my lack of posts (only 4 by now)

In my profile you will find my email, could you please contact me by this way ?
Feel free to speak french, c'est aussi mon cas ;)

Edit : message sent by the contact form. Thanks !
