Is it possible to filter records in our view page?

e.g. I am creating a page view that shows lessons of a specific kind (e.g. reading). As all of our lessons are in the same table, how can I filter a page view so that it shows only the reading lessons, and not the writing and listening lessons, for example? I also want to see this filtered list when setting up the menu item (i.e, in the popup for selecting the specific record).

Hope that makes sense ;-)

Thanks,
Geoff

Is the lesson type a foreign key (records in another table), an enumeration field or other?
