TOPIC:

And.. a 'dummy link' Field Type? 21 Nov 2013 07:27 #11697

I'm just full of ideas to as I try to think how we can make life even easier for the J-Cook members! (and myself too).

Scenario:

I'm building a Layout which really has no 'Collection Layout' necessary, only 'Items' and several of them that are all related (i.e. different configurations options in each Layout Item).

Now, imagine if I could just create one more Layout Item (the Default), and on this Layout Item (let's call it Selections) I could add a 'Dummy Link' Field. Each of these Dummy Link Fields added to the new Selections item layout should be able to LINK to one of the other Layout Items, kind of the same way you can choose Toolbar, Edit, Properties to have a return or link point when the action is selected. I Hope that all makes sense?

Is it laziness? No, I don't think so, I believe it would be creating more options for ease of use in the J-Cook Cooking Community!

Let me know if you are interested and need more clarification and I'll mock up some diagrams.

Food for thought.

Edward.

I jumped and started to work on a demo component... but 2 days later this demo component became the real component. I just showed today the end result to my customer and he turned to me and said... "this is more than I expected"... All of this is because Cook did cut about 70% of my work and provided me more ways to improve the usability of the component. The end result was 17 tables all related between than to generate a full dashboard for the travel agents. Thanks for Cook developers for such great tool. This component would not be possible to be done at short time with all the features in it
