Joomla supports categories for all components. If that could be implemented as a field type in the J-Cook builder that would be helpful.

+1 from me. Makes sense, which probably means there is a good reason this hasn't already been implemented. But we'll see?

In fact, thinking about this further, having an (optional) Auto Generated Category layout for a Layout List view would be a very welcome feature?

  I still don't believe he can really be human to do all this ! From all of the forums that I've ever participated in this is certainly the one that most encapsulates the feeling of being truly open source where everyone's opinions and contributions can and will shape the development of the service!
