jDOM as middle layer 28 Aug 2012 13:13 #3331

I am not sure, if this was already written as suggest.

For designing view files (default_grid.php), it will be much easier if jDOM will have one more middle layer.

For example:
Now we have in default_grid.php:
<?php echo JDom::_('html.fly', array(
'dataKey' => 'title',
'dataObject' => $row,
'route' => array('view' => 'item','layout' => 'item','cid[]' => $row->id)
));
?>

I would like to have jDOM_html.php and default_grid.php
In jDOM_html.php we will have:
$jRow[title] = JDom::_('html.fly', array(
'dataKey' => 'title',
'dataObject' => $row,
'route' => array('view' => 'item','layout' => 'item','cid[]' => $row->id)
));
and then in default_grid.php we will only have: echo $jRow->title;

For starters it's just so easy to design an app in a way that I'm used to i.e. database first then views followed by customization. The fork system is pure brilliance from a developer standpoint as I can override things and still add and update my projects with minimal effort! Truly amazing to be able to build components in Joomla using incremental refinement without having to do everything by hand. Thanks for the great tool! I am so much more productive now than ever and I can't imagine building components any other way!!!!
