No Data Tables? 01 Nov 2014 17:53 #12726

I am installing my component and getting:

500 Error Table ' ' doesn't exist

I checked the database and the tables are not there. Any ideas?

It might be at the install, the SQL script had an error.

Is it working in the sandbox ?

I think I have found.

It depends if it is the same problem I think.
Is the version of you project undefined ?

Because, after the last upgrade, I have added a feature to put SQL for incremental patchs in the sql / update directory.
There was a bug when the project has empty version. It should be fixed now.

If your problem is not related to that, please precise the project and I will check.

I managed to track down the source of the problem. When I install an updated version of the component, it does not add new tables or fields to the database. I have a substantial amount of data that I need to preserver, so I manually added the new fields and tables to resolve the problem.

Ok. This is normal.

Take note that now is available a new feature for that.
You can recreate the table structure after an update :
se here : www.j-cook.pro/index.php/docs/versions/197-2-6-5

In your case, if you want to keep the datas, then it is better to adjust the stucture manually, as you did.

I am glad you got it sorted.

I jumped and started to work on a demo component... but 2 days later this demo component became the real component. I just showed today the end result to my customer and he turned to me and said... "this is more than I expected"... All of this is because Cook did cut about 70% of my work and provided me more ways to improve the usability of the component. The end result was 17 tables all related between than to generate a full dashboard for the travel agents. Thanks for Cook developers for such great tool. This component would not be possible to be done at short time with all the features in it
