[CLOSED] Using view access 16 Aug 2012 08:28 #3174

Hi, I'm having a bit of trouble with using the view access, when i download my component and create a record with the view access set to public, users who are not super users still cannot access it even though the access level is set to public on that record. they can see it in the list view but when clicking on the record it says "You are not authorised to view this resource." this i surley not right. any suggestions?

ok my bad, you just need to a fly view of the record and set the link on the list view to take you there. and if the user is registered to edit the they can tick the box and click edit at the top.

For starters it's just so easy to design an app in a way that I'm used to i.e. database first then views followed by customization. The fork system is pure brilliance from a developer standpoint as I can override things and still add and update my projects with minimal effort! Truly amazing to be able to build components in Joomla using incremental refinement without having to do everything by hand. Thanks for the great tool! I am so much more productive now than ever and I can't imagine building components any other way!!!!
