When i use as validator on a field Username it does not work.
I think the problem is that 'invert match' is on and i cannot get it off

Please could you give some more details?
  1. What kind of field are you using?
  • String
  • OR
  • Text
  • OR
  • Rich Text
  • ?
  • Try deleting the field and re-adding it to the table & layout(s)
  • If deleting and re-adding doesn't work, please provide as many details as possible as requested in this how-to-post topic - it'll help to narrow things down for us.

Also, just to note, the Regular Expressions board is to share custom, user regular expressions and their application(s) as opposed to bugs/errors you may experience with COOK in-built validators, therefore, please post similar issues in Interface - Online Generator OR New Tickets for this kind of issue in the future...

@admin - please could you move to relevant board?

    Thanks,

    Gez

To remove the invert match... or to edit any predefined regex

    Select the predefined username validator
(you will note some values are greyed out)
    then select custom validator
change the values as you please
    ;)

you will note that after you have selected the first validation type and then select custom
    - the values of the previously selected regex are now editable

    Hope it helps

    Good point @BTB3000

One note, if you use this approach you should specify a new handler as they have to be unique... Don't use spaces or underscores in the handler either

    Thanks all for the reactions.
I think i post it in another forum, as i understand from audibleid. I am new with cook, sorry for posting on the wrong place.
The solution of BTB300 works perfect.
But it cannot be the proposed use for predifened expressions, i think.

    Thanx, item solved.

    Hi @aria

Great, glad that you got it working!

Don't worry about reposting it on a different board - admin will move it.

It was more a note for future posts really... It's very easy to accidentally post in the wrong forum! ;)

    best wishes,

The j-cook project is indeed one of the best tools I've run across for building Joomla components and the beta version should make things even better!
