[FIXED] Blank Screen after Save in Back End Item Layout 03 Dec 2012 14:29 #5783

Hi

I've created a component with 3 tables:

I've also created back end "collection" and "item" views for these.

When I create a Manufacturer it works fine but then when I then try to create a Model using a foreign key from the Manufacturers table and click save it just goes to a blank screen (index.php?)

Funnily enough when I enter the back end item view for the "Model" table I get an error:
Error loading component: com_demo7073modelmanufacturer, 1

If anyone could help me with this I'd be very grateful!

Yes, I understand.

You cannot use the string 'Model' in a table.
I must forbid it.

Rename and try again.

Ah ok - I'll change them.

Can I use ManufacturersModels? or is it that there can be no instance of the word model at all (i.e. %%model%%)

Many thanks!

Changed the fields and then changed the labels back to Model/Models and the labels work fine.

Much appreciate the reply :)

I jumped and started to work on a demo component... but 2 days later this demo component became the real component. I just showed today the end result to my customer and he turned to me and said... "this is more than I expected"... All of this is because Cook did cut about 70% of my work and provided me more ways to improve the usability of the component. The end result was 17 tables all related between than to generate a full dashboard for the travel agents. Thanks for Cook developers for such great tool. This component would not be possible to be done at short time with all the features in it
