Hello all,

I've been working on my collection views, preparing them ready to customise their output as 'tiles' much like a category blog type layout. In order to prepare the items for editing/publishing tasks when the user has permission to edit, edit state etc, I've been trying to add an EDIT task to every row of a grid but for some reason, it never appears. The grid I was wishing to add to was a front-end grid so I also tried to add to a back-end grid. The results are the same.

Just to clarify, the master edit/delete tasks work fine, it's just that no buttons for the tasks I've created on each row do not appear.

CONFIG: Cook 2.0, jQuery, Model
TESTED: Sandbox

Looking at the downloaded component, it appears that none of the buttons 9edit or delete) are actually rendered in the layout...

@admin, Is there a step missing in the builder to account for these tasks being added to each row object in the grid?

In a backend grid layout I added an edit button and a delete button to the field columns in the grid but these do not show on the record lines in the grid when I run the component in the sandbox.

Sorry, no I didn't... I haven't even looked at it since in all honesty as I've just got on with other things whilst awaiting for the forthcoming 2.5 version of cook.

Are you missing the output for the button completely in your views???

This is an open ticket at the moment that I believe will be resolved in the new version of Cook - coming soon.

In the meantime, please could you add your configuration options (Config panel in the builder) to this new thread.

My Config settings are:
JS Framework: JQuery
Embed: No
Form style: Condensed
Features: Maximum
TODO: yes

Generator: V.2 beta

I have a bit more information: Since posting I have created two more grid layouts for additional tables and in these the edit button appears and functions OK. In one layout it does not show and so far I can't see any difference between the layouts where it is working and the one where it doesn't.

Very strange!!! Any JS errors or notices in debugger on the page where its not appearing?

I created a second similar grid for the same table - still the edit button did not appear.
I then deleted both grid layouts and created a new default layout - This time the buttons appeared and functioned OK.

I'll keep an eye on the issue and see if I can recreate it.

When I get chance, I'm going to try again to delete and recreate the layouts in my project where this became an issue. I'll post my findings here...

BTW, your config looks almost identical to mine.

Just to add - perhaps related?
I have recently noticed that sometimes on a new layout that the default toolbar is not fully created - its missing buttons

after closing the browser and revisiting the project a place holder (if that's what you could call it?) a blank toolbar button is displayed in the position where the default / missing buttons should be

Could not get it to do it more than once at the time, but occasionally it did the same again just thought it was one of those unusual things...

deleted toolbar - cleared cache - recreated OK
