Add a checkbox to the project to add automatically the methode upgrade into the manifest, preventing to uninstall / install component and have to restor data if we have some.

<install type="component" version="1.5" method="upgrade">

In 1.7, it is working, but not on 1.5, you are right.
Oh oh, So much work to do !!!

I have also to put a protection to not install a 1.5 component on a 1.7 Joomla and vice-versa.
Coding is now a piece of cake

I dont think you need to put protection for that.

its not the same manifest. so normally, you cant install a component for 1.5 on 1.7 or vise-versa. Only provide the good manifest version and all will be ok. (I think)

WOW.. WOW... WOW... This is awesome... in less than 3 hours of work I have my application done... this is simply the best tool I ever tried to generate Joomla Components...
