hello,
When I download and install a component, the tables are not added to the database. I have to buid the tables via phpmyadmin before being able to use the component.
So what's wrong ? what am I missing ?

This is normal.
Uninstall, then reinstall.

If you want a migration script, you need to create it manually.

You can test your component in a sandbox before downloading it packaged up ready to install. The developer is responsive on the support forum.
