Tasks are Disabled in the Builder Interface 25 Aug 2016 00:07 #14484

Hi,

The tasks in the builder are always enabled until I create a layout. When I create a layout for a table, they are immediately disabled and the tooolbar is not populated with the edit and new icons.

Please advise.

Thanks

No problem.

Yes in facts, The allowed tasks depends of the layout context.

A common question is also about the "New" and "Edit" task.
They will work only if you have a "Item" Layout, with a "Form" inside.
By default, in the front view, no forms is instanced. You have to manually instance a "Form" brick into the "Item" Layout.
Coding is now a piece of cake

I jumped and started to work on a demo component... but 2 days later this demo component became the real component. I just showed today the end result to my customer and he turned to me and said... "this is more than I expected"... All of this is because Cook did cut about 70% of my work and provided me more ways to improve the usability of the component. The end result was 17 tables all related between than to generate a full dashboard for the travel agents. Thanks for Cook developers for such great tool. This component would not be possible to be done at short time with all the features in it
