View Access Field /Wizard 15 Oct 2012 09:07 #4530

Can anyone help me with how to use the view access field

What doe the value represent?

Is it a value which relates to the User Group ID so for eaxample if I put a 4 into the view access field . It would only allow the relevant access permissions to anyone within a specific group of which the group ID is 4?

Does it work in the front end or the back end ?

Exactly. And it works everywhere, even when you call yours datas through the model anywhere in your component.

This access level ONLY relate on VIEWING the item. Nothing more (no edition specific ACL, or else)
Coding is now a piece of cake

Just wanted to congratulate you on the J-Cook website / web development tool. In a couple of visits I've had a play around with Cook and have to say I think it is fantastic.  I've played with a number of component builders in the past and yours is certainly looking like the best so far. I'd also like to help you spread the word - I'm really surprised more people aren't excited about this tool. Good luck with the project.
