Hi,

Can someone please provide an explanation of what the Data type 'Joomla User' is and how I might use it in an example?

I do understand the #_jos_user table, but unclear how and if this is related.

Thank you,

Ed.

I tried to make use of it, as I thought it would include the user_id of the user who was adding or editing a table item. Obviously it does not (or I missed something), so that probably we have to add code ourselves to include the current user.

Really great Joomla tool Cook is a great piece of kit for creating Joomla components. It uses a drag-n-drop interface to build tables and fully featured pages. You can test your component in a sandbox before downloading it packaged up ready to install. The developer is responsive on the support forum.
