Downloading component 10 Aug 2012 14:09 #3091

I see this will be good new function to download component without default_grid.php files.

For example, I made component and when I start HTML/CSS redesign, I see I forgot to include some parameter or I put wrong name in field atc.

I need to rewrite those files every time I regenerate component.

We all face the same problem but there is no easy solution.
For my part, i use a mix of
- Dropbox (for revisions),
- a css import,
- Template overrides,
- Beyond Compare to get all the modified bits of code back each time i download the component because i insert a commented line to each modified part.

This is what you call a component builder. I was able to master using this in a very short time and the resulting component works like a charm. Not just a basic component builder but a fully working component builder with forms fields tables all ready to go. You can make the list and item views to display in the front and back end. Also there is a great forum just starting to evolve and I'm sure this will grow very rapidly when you all realise how good this tool is.
