[ANSWERED] WHERE ARE ENUMERATION LIST VALUES STORED? 15 Nov 2013 13:59 #11616

Hello All,
I have noticed a strange behaviour today, which could simply be something I am not doing correctly.

I have a Joomla 3 Component build, with many Tables, and some Tables have a Field Type : enumeration

If I add more than one element to the enumeration List the values after the first are not generated in the SQL file (install.mysql.utf8.sql).

For the Admin :)
My Project SimpleCRM. Table: People , Field: Type

The List elements are clearly visible in my project however they are not, apparently generated in the SQL file.

Your kind assistance is much appreciated.

Edward.

I can't be sure because it's been a long time since I used an enumeration field and it would have been pre Cook V2 but, I seem to recall the enumeration field options being stored in a var (maybe static) in some helper??? Unsure, but hope it helps nonetheless!

Thank you Gez,

Yes, there they are in helper.php nicely located under the comment .. "Prepare the enumerated static lists".
/component/admin/helpers/helper.php
- for future reference.

Ah, we live and learn (hopefully).

Cool!

Can't really believe that I remembered that seriously!!! :woohoo: It's been at least a year since I would have got in there to edit any options manually.

Well, glad it helped.

Awards for the best Joomla app. This product is gonna win an award for this amazing job. Cook Self Service is the the best application from all over the Joomla universe ! It brings Joomla to a professional level really advanced for developers. It is a real fun to develop with it. The ACL part and security checks implementation are just... so much hours saved. I can now concentrate myself more on the design part and the creative works. Thank you so much. Guys I offer you all my congratulation ! Keep up the works because Joomla is needing it to increase the quality of extensions availables on the JED. I also learned a lot because I can see how to code at the proper place and I found all my answers reading the forum.
