I did a component by using 3.X, and then after few time i want to add another filter
on the view.html.php i add this code

$modelEstat_id = CkJModel::getInstance('estat', 'CsicprojectsModel');
$filters->jdomOptions = array(
'list' => $modelEstat_id->getItems()
);

if i do a print_r($filters);
i obtain code, so i am getting the values
then i add in the default.xml of the view:

<fields name="request">

<fieldset name="request" addfieldpath="/administrator/components/com_component/models/fields">

....

<field name="filter_estat_id"
type="modal_estatitem"
label="CSICPROJECTS_JSEARCH_FILTER_ESTAT"
required="false"
default=""
description="CSICPROJECTS_JSEARCH_SELECT_ESTAT_ITEM"/>
</fieldset>

then in the default.php
i do
<div class="pull-left">
<?php echo $this->filters->input;?>
</div>

but i get nothing
it is empty

do you know where i should look about ?

thanks in advance

Although I found this tool some time ago I just started learning experimenting and building this first component on Monday and now on Thursday afternoon it's already online. Although I already had a working version done with another tool this is much easier to build and at the end you have the freedom to own your own component. Once you know how to use Cook you will boost your productivity as the learning curve is really moderate compared to many other tools.
