Joomla xxx_users file - handling profile.key 03 Nov 2012 18:29 #4969

I have three tables I am trying to create a report from.
Two of them use "profile_key" matched with a "user_id" to get the value in "profile_value"

"profile_value" is the data I want to show based on the user_id and the profile_key.

How do I put that in the fields?

Hi @mfisher99,

Please could you further explain your tables?

Do you mean that one of them is the core joomla users table when you refer to:

Two of them use "profile_key" matched with a "user_id"

AND
What is

profile_value

and which table is it from?

Thanks,

Gez

Welcome to the community.

Did you understood how Cook deals with Foreign Tables ?

If you want to create a chart, or a report, the simpliest thing to do is to create a grid list containing (preparing) all the foreign values that you will want to use to compose your report or chart or anything else... (map, pdf, ...)

If you deal with an item, do the same with a 'Fly' brick (read only item page)
Coding is now a piece of cake

OK, on reading this having come across it again when looking for another post, I think I understand better what you are trying to do...

You are referring to getting info from a profile plugin, right?

I found "cook" two days ago. Played around with it for a day and then within a day got rid of two legacy applications in IBM Lotus Domino Notes and replaced them with "cook". It was really easy. A piece of cake. Actually it was even easier than cooking. Cooking involves more work than developing with "cook". What can I say about "cook"? Great application great price for what it delivers great forum with a lot of information and fast responses active and friendly community fast forward moving development cycle So what should I say "Monsieur Le Cook"? Keep the good work going it will lead to success. Having become a paying member in the words of Edith Piaf may I say ..... non rien de rien ... je ne regrette rien. Vive La France.
